Our green frogs have decreased alarmingly over a 5 year timeframe. We are not the only ones. It is very concerning. At least 4 properties of acreage are all saying the same. What is going on. We are in Central Queensland.
I have been pleased that green frogs have moved from a nearby river to reside on my balcony among many pot plants, and a rear garden strip.
They’ve stayed for more than a year and I’m wondering what their normal lifespan is ?
They do need the bucket of water on the balcony and a slightly raised birds water ( pot tray ) at the rear.
There were many snails and some slugs at the rear until I iron pelleted them recently. There are just some at the front.
So the frogs had water, plants for cover and cool, and food.
I think I need plant foods too, so the rear ones may have moved nearby. They’re quiet once the cool weather starts so it’s hard to know if they’re there.
I’m at the map centre of NSW.
Hi recently purchased a house in gold coast, and nearly as soon as I moved in I noticed green tree frogs in my plants, I have a lot of trees and when we moved in we intended to clear the trees but I don’t know what to do with the frogs as the trees have to go is there someone I can call to remove them? Will they move on there own?… feeling sad
Sorry to hear more trees are being cleared.
Without habitat frogs cannot survive.
The best way to protect biodiversity is to protect their habitat.
The survival of earth depends on Humans !
